Adiel Akplogan is Vice President of Technical Engagement at ICANN. He has over 25 years of experience in engagement and active contributions to the global Internet industry. Before joining ICANN, Adiel was President and CEO of AFRINIC from 2004-2015, IT Director for Symbol Technology (a Motorola company) in France from 2001-2003, and CTO at CAFÉ Informatique in Togo (1994-2000). Recognized as an Internet technology pioneer in Africa, he contributed to building technical capacity for some of the first private ISPs in West Africa between 1996 and 2000. These achievements were recently recognized by the Internet Society community which Inducted him into the 2019 class of the Internet Hall of Fame.
Adiel is an electrical engineer and holds a master’s degree in e-business and new technology management from the Paris Graduate School of Management. He lives and works in Montreal.
