CHRISTINE ARIDA

Christine Arida is Strategic Advisor to the Executive President, and Board Member at the National Telecom Regulatory Authority of Egypt. She has more than 28 years of experience in Internet development, telecom regulations, and digital public policies.  She championed the drafting of Egypt’s National Broadband Plan in 2011, and launched the DNS Entrepreneurship Center in 2014 and Egypt’s IDN ccTLD, “dotMasr”, in 2010.   She is Egypt’s representative at the UN Internet Governance Forum Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG ), and on ICANN’s Governmental Advisory Committee.  Ms. Arida started her career at the Egyptian Government  Information and Decision Support Center in 1992, where she was among the team who first connected Egypt to the global Internet.  She holds a B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University.
